Services
I offer more than a prescription or a diagnosis.
I offer presence. I offer understanding born of lived experience, and care that is collaborative, culturally attuned, and grounded in the belief that there is often more happening beneath what we can immediately see.
The goal is not to do everything. It is to understand what may actually be useful for you.
Psychiatric Care With Time
to Understand the Larger Picture
My approach is relational and therapy-oriented, with psychotherapy as an important part of our work and medication used thoughtfully when appropriate.
Terra Nova offers two ways to work together: insurance-based psychiatric care and private-pay integrative psychiatric care.
Insurance-Based Psychiatric Care
For adults who want meaningful psychotherapy as part of psychiatric treatment while using their insurance benefits.
Care may include:
- Comprehensive psychiatric assessment
- Substantial psychotherapy
- Thoughtful medication management
- Treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, burnout, and related concerns
- Education and practical strategies
Insurance-based visits remain structured within the requirements and limitations of an insurance-based psychiatric practice.
Private-Pay Integrative Psychiatric Care – Widening the Lens
Alongside psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, and medication when appropriate, we will also have greater time and flexibility to explore factors such as sleep, nutrition, physical and hormonal health, stress, movement, relationships, trauma, and longstanding emotional patterns.
When clinically appropriate, care may also include laboratory evaluation, nutritional or supplemental strategies, and collaboration with other members of your healthcare team.
Integrative care is not about doing more. It is about understanding what may be useful for you.
How It All Comes Together
Psychotherapy
Therapy is an important part of my work, not an add-on to a medication visit. We may explore patterns, relationships, trauma, grief, identity, meaning, and the ways past experiences continue to shape the present.
Medication
Medication can be an important part of treatment when appropriate. I consider what we are trying to treat, the potential benefits and risks, your previous experiences with medication, and how it fits within the larger picture of your mental and physical health. Treatment decisions are made thoughtfully and collaboratively, with ongoing attention to how you respond over time.
Education
I make time to explain what I am seeing, what may be contributing to how you feel, and why I believe a particular treatment approach may be helpful. I want you to understand your care, not simply follow a treatment plan.
Integrative Perspective
Rather than treating each concern in isolation, I consider how emotional, physical, relational, and lifestyle factors may interact and use that understanding to help guide your care.
Medication is a tool. It does not have to be the entire treatment.
